Admission Requirements: Are You Eligible?

To qualify for admission into the B.Ed programs, you must meet specific academic requirements. Here’s a breakdown for different categories of applicants:

1. WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants:

  • WASSCE Holders: Must have credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including three core subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, and either Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant elective subjects.
  • SSSCE Holders: Must have credit passes (A-D) in six subjects, with the same core and elective subjects as WASSCE holders.

2. GCE Advanced Level Applicants:

  • Passes in three subjects (at least one pass should be Grade D or better) and credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and a science or social science subject.

3. Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants:

  • Passes in three subjects (at least one should be Grade D or better) and credit passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and either Integrated Science or Social Studies.

4. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Applicants:

  • . Possess a TVET Certificate II with lower credit (C-) or better in six subjects, including three core subjects and three relevant electives. Additional qualifications such as NABPTEX Certificate II or other recognized certificates may also be required.

5. Foreign Qualifications:

  • Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to determine their equivalency and eligibility.

6. Special Needs Applicants:

  • Visually Impaired: Study facilities are available at N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa), Wesley College of Education (Kumasi), and Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong).
  • Hearing Impaired: Study facilities are available at Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong).


The Bachelor of Education programs offered include: 

* Early Grade Education: Focuses on teaching young children.
* Primary Education: Prepares educators for teaching at the primary school level.
* Junior High School (JHS) Education: Allows specialization in subjects such as Science, Mathematics, ICT, and more, for teaching at the JHS level.

How to Apply: The Online Application Process

Applying is simple and can be done online. Here's how:

Payment: Pay the application fee of GHS 300.00 at any branch of Consolidated Bank, Ghana (CBG) Limited, 


Access Application Portal: Use the provided Personal Identification Number (PIN) and Admission Application Serial Number to access the application portal at admission.coeportal.edu.gh.


Complete the Form: Follow the instructions to fill out the form, choosing your preferred colleges and program specialisms.


Submission: Print the completed application form, attach a passport-sized photo, and your results slip(s), and send them via EMS to the principal of your first choice college.

The deadline for application submissions is Sunday, August 31, 2024. 


Since the deadline for application is August 31st, it is expected that the admission process will commence around mid October  with reporting scheduled for November 4th, 2024, if all this being equal.
