CETAG's Withdrawal of Services
CETAG stand at a critical juncture in the fight for justice and fairness. In an extraordinary emergency meeting of the National Council on July 23, 2024, a unanimous decision was made to withdraw all services provided by the College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG). This drastic measure comes in response to the Minister for Education's shocking directive to withhold the July 2024 salaries of teaching staff in the 46 public colleges of education due to our ongoing legal strike.

As of today, CETAG members will no longer provide supervision, congregation ceremonies, or academic counseling services to students in the halls of residence. This withdrawal of services will continue until further notice, as we fight for our rights and the rights of our students. We understand the gravity of this decision and its potential impact on our students, but we cannot continue to work under conditions that disregard our basic human rights.
The decision to freeze CETAG salaries is not only unfair but also illegal. The leadership has referred this matter to CETAG lawyers, who will take immediate action to address this injustice. We will not stand idly by while CETAG rights are trampled upon. "We will not be silenced or intimidated by the Minister's directive. Instead, we will rise up and fight for what is rightfully ours."

To all CETAG members, we assure you that leadership is committed to fighting for justice and fairness. We will not back down until our demands are met, and our rights are respected. This is a call to action for all CETAG members to stand together in solidarity and support. We must unite in our quest for justice and fairness.
The Unfair Treatment of CETAG Members
The Minister's directive to withhold our salaries is a clear attempt to intimidate and silence us. However, we will not be bullied or coerced into abandoning our legitimate demands. Our strike is a legal and necessary response to the government's failure to address our concerns and improve our working conditions. As teacher educators, we are the backbone of Ghana's education system. We deserve respect, fairness, and justice.
"Our students deserve the best education possible, and we cannot provide that if our rights are not respected. We will not compromise on our values and principles. We will continue to fight for a better future for education in Ghana."

CETAG will not be deterred by the Minister's directive. We will continue to fight for our rights, and we will emerge victorious. Our motto, "Aluta Continua," reminds us that the struggle continues until justice is served. We will not rest until our demands are met, and our rights are respected.
