SRC Week Celebration Postponed: A Message of Hope and Resilience.

The eagerly anticipated students representative council (SRC) Week celebration at St. John Bosco's College of Education has been put on hold due to the ongoing CETAG strike. The event, which was slated for tomorrow, July 28th, 2024, has been postponed indefinitely, leaving students in a state of uncertainty.

As the initial date for the celebration was announced, students began to express their unhappiness. With their teachers on strike, many students could not help but wonder why they were still expected to participate in the week celebration. The sentiment was palpable: how could they celebrate when our lecturers is fighting for their rights?

The concerns were valid. With a significantly reduced student population on campus - barely a quarter of the entire school's population - it seemed insensitive to proceed with the celebration. Moreover, the presence of dignitaries  who were expected to attend the event, made it even more challenging to proceed. The current population in the school would not have done justice to their presence.

The atmosphere was tense, and Gh Edu Pro, your trusted education-focused platform, was keeping a close eye on developments. After careful consideration and consultation, the decision was made to postpone the SRC Week celebration. The move was met with a mix of emotions - disappointment, relief, and understanding.

While some students were looking forward to the event, others felt it was inappropriate to celebrate during a time of strike action. But in the midst of uncertainty, the SRC president's message brought a sense of hope and resilience.

This decision comes as a direct result of CETAG's withdrawal from all services, an unforeseen circumstance that has impacted our plans significantly.

"A Message from the SRC President"

Dear Colleagues,

I come to you today with a heavy heart, bearing news that I know will disappoint and frustrate many of you. Our much-anticipated SRC Week celebration has been postponed, effective immediately. This decision was not made lightly, but it is a necessary response to the unforeseen circumstances that have arisen from CETAG's withdrawal from all services.

As your SRC President, I understand the disappointment and frustration that this news brings. We have all been looking forward to this event as a time to come together, celebrate our achievements, and enjoy the camaraderie that defines our community. However, the current situation necessitates this difficult decision to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.

I want to assure you that this postponement is temporary. We remain committed to hosting the celebration as soon as the CETAG strike is resolved and normalcy is restored. Your enthusiasm and anticipation for this event are not in vain; we will celebrate in due course, and it will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, I encourage you to stay positive and keep faith in our collective ability to overcome this challenge. Let us use this time to support one another, focus on our studies, and remain united as a community"

The SRC Board is pleased to assure the student body that as soon as the CETAG strike is called off, the SRC Week celebration will take place. We are committed to making this event happen and are eager to bring our community together to celebrate and have fun. The SRC Board appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and look forward to announcing a new date for the celebration once the strike is resolved.
