The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) council meeting has come to a close, and the outcome is clear: the strike will persist until the migration to the new payment system is completed and payment is effected. This decision was made unanimously, demonstrating the collective resolve of CETAG members.

Notably, this decision comes despite CETAG having reached an agreement with the government. However, it appears that the agreement alone is not enough to satisfy the demands of CETAG members.

In a statement, CETAG announced that they will write to the employer and all stakeholders to communicate their position. This move underscores the association's commitment to transparency and ensuring that their concerns are heard.

The strike, which began on June 14, has already entered its seventh week, affecting students in colleges of education across the country.

CETAG's unwavering stance serves as a testament to their dedication to improving teachers' working conditions.

As the situation unfolds, we will continue to provide updates. For now, it is clear that CETAG will not back down until their demands are met.

Stay tuned for further developments.
