Meanwhile, some colleges has suspended dinning hall services leaving students frustrated.
GTEC is working diligently to address the concerns of CETAG, including the migration of 20 institutions, with plans to complete all 46 by the end of the month. Additionally, the top-up research allowance has been paid to 44 colleges, with the exception of McCoy and Dambai, which are experiencing technical issues.
The Commission is also working to resolve the issue of all-year-round payment, which has been initiated on the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS). This will enable the Ministry of Finance to issue a release letter and specific warrant for payment to be effected as soon as possible.
Regarding August salaries, GTEC awaits directives from the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
In the meantime, the Commission is in talks with the Minister to secure financial clearance to recruit 2,500 teaching staff to augment the current load and expedite academic work.
GTEC appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders and will communicate the modalities of the urgent staff recruitment once clearance is provided.
In the words of Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, Ag. Director-General of GTEC, "I am counting on your usual cooperation."
