Celebrating Our Founders: A Day of Reflection and Gratitude.

As we are in the first week of August, Ghanaians are reminded of a significant day in our nation's history - Founders' Day. This year, Founders' Day falls on Sunday, August 4th, 2024. However, to ensure that we can all come together to celebrate and reflect on the sacrifices of our founding fathers, President Akufo-Addo has declared Monday, August 5th, 2024, as an additional public holiday.

Founders' Day is a statutory public holiday that honors the brave men and women who fought for our nation's independence. It's a day to remember the struggles, the sacrifices, and the vision of our founding fathers. As we celebrate this day, we are reminded of the importance of unity, patriotism, and selflessness.

In accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601), the President has issued an Executive Instrument (E.I) declaring Monday, August 5th, 2024, as an additional public holiday. This means that all institutions, including schools and businesses, will remain closed on Monday, allowing us to observe this significant day.

Founders' Day is not just a public holiday; it's a day for reflection and gratitude. It's a day to reflect on our nation's history, our achievements, and our challenges. It's a day to express our gratitude to our founding fathers and mothers who paved the way for our freedom and independence.

As we celebrate Founders' Day, let's come together as one people, united in our diversity. Let's use this day to strengthen our bonds, to foster unity, and to promote patriotism. Let's honor our founding fathers and mothers by working towards a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.

Founders' Day is a significant day in our nation's history. It's a day to remember, reflect, and give thanks. Let's observe this day with pride, unity, and gratitude. Happy Founders' Day, Ghana!
