The Management of the University for Development Studies (UDS) - Tamale has announced that the re-opening date for the 2024/2025 academic year has been postponed indefinitely.
Initially, the academic year was set to begin on September 27, 2024, but this will no longer happen as planned.

The postponement is due to an ongoing strike involving the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), the Senior Staff Association - Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Teachers and Educational Workers' Union (TEWU-TUC).
These unions are responsible for providing important academic services, and their strike has impacted the university's ability to function as usual.
UDS management has assured students and the public that updates will be provided once the strike is resolved. They also expressed regret for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Students are encouraged to stay informed and await further announcements from the university.
