The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the results of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released in the coming weeks of October.

In an official statement, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of Public Relations at GES, confirmed that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has completed processing the results and that the placement of qualified candidates into Senior High Schools (SHS) has been finalized.

Key Information on SHS Placement

Out of 569,095 candidates who qualified for placement, 451,797 have been successfully assigned to their selected schools through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

However, several students encountered issues due to errors made when filling out their CSSPS forms.

To assist these students, a WhatsApp contact (053 451 7153) has been provided, allowing them and their guardians to correct any details.

Examination Malpractices and Withheld Result’s

The GES also revealed that WAEC identified multiple cases of examination malpractice, resulting in the withholding of 10,898 candidates' results for further investigation.

GES assured that these cases are under review, and the affected candidates will be informed once investigations are complete.

Self-Placement for Unassigned Students

For candidates who were not placed in any of their chosen schools, GES has introduced a self-placement system.

This system allows students to manually select from available schools through an online portal, giving them a chance to secure a place at a school that meets their preferences.

Verification Process and Deadlines

Students and parents are advised to verify their placement by sending details such as their name and index number to the provided WhatsApp number. Timely verification is crucial to ensure a smooth transition into SHS.

GES Encourages Collaboration Among Stakeholders

GES has called on teachers, heads of schools, education directors, parents, and guardians to engage with the process and address any concerns about placement.

The service emphasized the importance of working together to ensure that all eligible candidates are placed without issues.

GES is commitment to ensuring a seamless placement process and encouraging stakeholder engagement.
