The management of St. Ambrose College of Education in Dormaa Akwamu, Bono Region, sent out a notice to parents and guardians about a replacement cost for missing chairs. The letter, signed by the Principal, Rev. Fr. George Kyeremeh, stated that 578 foldable chairs were reported missing from the college.
In response, the college administration decided that each student should pay 455 Ghana Cedis and 86 Pesewas (GHC 455.86) to cover the cost of these missing chairs.

According to the letter, this payment should be made by the end of the academic year. The college made this decision to ensure all missing chairs could be replaced. The notice was also shared with the Ag. Finance Officer, Student Affairs Officer, and the SRC President.
This situation has raised discussions among students and parents, as the issue of stolen items is a common problem in many institutions. Some believe that the responsibility should be investigated more thoroughly to avoid unfair costs to students. Others think it is a necessary measure to maintain college resources for future students.
