The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an important update regarding the reopening of schools for the 2024/25 academic year. In a press release dated January 2, 2025, GES reassured students, parents, staff, and the general public that the academic calendar remains unchanged.
According to the release, Senior High School (SHS) students are expected to return to school on January 3, 2025, while Primary and Junior High Schools (JHS) will reopen on January 8, 2025.
The GES also mentioned that it is working closely with the Ministry of Education to address concerns raised by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS). These discussions aim to resolve any outstanding issues to ensure a smooth academic year.
The management has kindly urged all stakeholders to take note of these dates and make the necessary arrangements to prepare for the reopening.
