The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed the reopening of St. Vincent College of Education. This decision follows discussions between GTEC and the Paramount Chief of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama.
The college had been closed earlier due to disagreements about the appointment of a new principal. The closure was ordered by the Ya-Naa to ensure peace while the matter was addressed.

He said, “His Majesty wanted calm to prevail before engaging with the Director-General of GTEC. Now that discussions have concluded successfully, we are optimistic that St. Vincent College will resume its operations as planned.”
With this resolution, stakeholders are hopeful that the institution will continue its work without further interruptions.
