Final-Year Teacher Trainees to Continue Macro Teaching Despite CETAG Strike
Many final-year teacher trainees (Level 400) are uncertain about whether to continue their macro teaching due to the ongoing CETAG strike. This has raised questions among students about what to do next.
Gh Edu Pro reached out to some STS coordinators across various colleges to clarify the situation. All the coordinators gave a similar response:

“College lecturers are on strike, but the strike does not affect basic schools. When basic schools reopen, teacher trainees are expected to report to their assigned schools to continue their macro teaching.”
However, confusion still lingers as CETAG recently released a strike letter clearly stating that "there will be no supervision of project work and macro teaching until their demands are met." This announcement has left many trainees concerned about how their activities will be assessed.

A final-year teacher trainee shared their thoughts: “The strike announcement has made things a bit unclear for us, especially regarding supervision. But it’s good to know that we are still expected to teach in our assigned schools.”

Therefore, all final-year teacher trainees are expected to report to their respective internship schools on 8th January 2025 to continue their teaching practice. Despite the strike, basic schools will reopen, and macro teaching will proceed as planned.
